Expanding our work on migratory flows into the roots, causes and context of the asylum conundrum, Athens PIL participates in the Migration and Asylum Policy Systems – MAPS project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.
The MAPS project is carried out by a network of ten European Universities, encompassing more than 150 researchers, working together in more than 60 workshops and meetings with world-class scholars and all pertinent shareholders. It aims to create an international platform of know-how on legal tools and best practices for stakeholders and provide a coherent framework for risk assessment and sustainable management of different implementation on migration and asylum policies in EU member States.
It develops into two distinct strands:
Taught in the national language or each participating institution or in English, the courses offer a comprehensive and cohesive overview of migration and asylum law. They are available through the MAPS Network platform and in the distance-learning platform of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Organized by each participating institution, this series of workshops will address specific aspects of the migration and asylum issues with the participation of important shareholders from the State administration, civil society and relief organizations.
The first such workshop was organized by the Università degli studi di Napoli L’Orientale, which serves as project leader, on 23-24 September 2019.
