LYDIA VENERI

Lydia is a PhD Candidate at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a qualified Greek lawyer. Her doctoral research focuses on privacy issues in new technologies, with a special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence. Lydia holds an LL.B and an LL.M from the University of Athens in Public International Law. She was awarded the “Stavros Tsakirakis” Scholarship in 2020. Lydia has experience practicing international commercial law and privacy and IT law in Greece and the EU. Before commencing her legal practice, she interned at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also volunteered as a legal intern at NOYB.eu in Vienna. Currently, she serves as the Head of Legal at Girls in Tech-Greece, where she actively promotes women’s representation in technology sectors, while working as a Legal Counsel for individuals and enterprises in Greece and the EU.

Her research interests encompass data privacy, AI, digital governance, GDPR, human rights, and public international law. Lydia is fluent in Greek, French, and English, with intermediate knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
