Myrto is a practicing attorney registered with the Athens Bar Association and the coordinator of the Refugee and Migration Studies Hub of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has previously worked as Project Assistant and then Legal Project Coordinator of the EuroBrits project of the AIRE Centre (UK registered charity). In 2015-2016 she interned at the European Court of Human Rights and the Liaison Office of the Council of Europe to the EU.
She holds an LL.B. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an LL.M. in Public International Law (with distinction) from the same university while she was granted an excellence award as the first in rank graduate of the LL.M. in Public International Law programme for the academic year 2019-2020. Her LL.M. thesis received an honorable mention by the Hellenic Society of International Law and International Relations. During her undergrad studies she was a member of the winning team of the European Human Rights Moot Court Competition (2014-2015). She also received the Best Orator Award that year. Since 2017, she is the coach of the team representing the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens to the same moot court competition (renamed Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition).
Her interest areas include general public international law, international and European human rights law, international environmental law, international humanitarian law and international dispute settlement. She is fluent in English and Greek (mother tongues) and reads French while she is conversational in Portuguese.
